On a trip to Nicaragua my first stop was the Corn Islands in the Caribbean. I decided to spend most of my time on Little Corn Island staying 5 days out of my 23 day trip. I set out to capture the stunning tropical island landscape and help out local hotels with photography. It was a trip with a lot of firsts. First time flying, first time out of the country, first time in Central America, first time climbing a volcano, first time I had seen and experienced the Pacific Ocean, and the Caribbean Ocean. A trip that has forever changed my life and left me with a thirst for travel.

Escaping the most brutal winter I have ever experienced in my life I set out to explore Nicaragua in Central America. When I flew out of Rochester, MN it was -30, and as I landed in Managua it was 92. The difference was unreal. After several days on the island I had picked out a few locations to shoot. I couldn't believe the stunning beauty of this place. Unlike a place that would be all inclusive the island is free for you to explore. Allowing you to really immerse yourself in the rich culture of Nicaragua.

Walking along the shore of the island I let the sound of the waves crashing against the coral in the distance soothe my soul as the fading waves washed gently ashore among my feet. Searching for that shot that would just capture the feel of this island. The white sandy beach stretched on as far as the eye could see, lined with palm tree's. The heat and humidity surrounded me with a comforting warmth, as the suns rays shone over head with tropical intensity. I couldn't believe I was here.

Walking along the shore I found this old tree that had washed ashore as it stuck out from the beach buried in the sand. Looking out from the island the water glowed turquoise blue. The palm leaves rustled in the gentle ocean breeze as I stared down the beach. This was the photo I was searching for. I set up my camera and pressed the shutter. Capturing the feeling of Paradise.
